Morning: Begin your day with a visit to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island. This historic island was once used as a prison and a quarantine station. Today, it’s home to a fascinating colony of Aldabra giant tortoises. You’ll have the opportunity to walk among these gentle giants, learn about their history, and even feed them.
2
Afternoon: After your visit to Prison Island, you’ll board a boat and head to the stunning Nakupenda Sandbank. This pristine white sandbank emerges from the turquoise waters at low tide, creating a natural paradise. You’ll have ample time to relax on the powdery sand, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or snorkel among the vibrant coral reefs.
This tour typically includes a delicious lunch buffet at Nakupenda Sandbank, featuring fresh seafood and other local delicacies. We also have the non-seafood option when requested in advance.
3
Evening: Your tour concludes with a visit to the historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll wander through the narrow, winding streets, admiring the intricate Swahili architecture and the vibrant local culture. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Stone Town’s most famous landmarks, such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Palace Museum, Hamamni Baths, the Catholic Cathedral, Freddy Mercury House, Darajani Market, and the bustling Forodhani Gardens.
